Chocolate Mud Cake sponge

Here’s our recipe of a very chocolatey, moist Chocolate Mud Cake. Made with melted chocolate and our Egg Free Choco mix, topped with chocolate ganache, this one is sure to satisfy your chocolate cravings!

Chocolate Mud Cake sponge
Pillsbury™ Egg-free Chocolate Mix 500g
Water 225g
Butter 200g
Melted Dark chocolate 150g
Chocolate Mud cake
Egg-free Chocolate Mud Cake sponge 300g
Chocolate ganache 150g
Chocolate sponge crumbs (For garnish) 50g


Chocolate Mud Cake sponge
  1. Mix all the ingredients together for 1 minute in slow speed.
  2. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl and mix it again for 3minutes in medium speed.
  3. Pour the mix in the desired moulds and bake at 165°C - 170°C for 30-35 minutes.
Chocolate Mud cake
  1. Slice the sponge into 2 equal halves.
  2. Layer the sponge with chocolate ganache.
  3. Refrigerate the layered cake for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Finish the cake with melted chocolate ganache and garnish it with chocolate sponge crumbs.
