Modern Christmas Yule Log with Milk Choco Crunchy Center

Did you know the Yule log represents a French tradition which symbolised a Yule log being burnt as a symbol that brings good luck to the family? Let’s bring some good luck by learning to bake this unique and rich recipe now!

Recipe Ingredients

Ingredient Weight
For the Sponge:
Pillsbury™ Egg Free Chocolate Premix 500gm
Water 280gm
Oil 25gm
For Truffle:
Amul Cream 300gm
Dark chocolate 300gm
For Milk Chocolate Crunchy:
Melted Milk Chocolate 300gm
Cornflakes (Crushed) 75gm
Amul Cream 100gm

Preparation

For the Sponge:
  1. Add the premix and water to a mixing bowl.
  2. Use a flat blade and mix for a minute at Speed 1.
  3. Scrape the sides and mix at Speed 2 for 3 mins.
  4. Now, add oil and mix for another minute.
  5. Use a long rectangular tray for the ideal Yule Log shape.
  6. Bake at: 170°C
  7. Bake for: 30 mins
For Truffle:
  1. Warm the cream and chop the dark chocolate.
  2. Make the truffle by mixing the two.
For Milk Chocolate Crunchy:
  1. Add the crushed cornflakes and milk chocolate to a bowl.
  2. Now, add the warm Amul cream and mix again until they emulsify perfectly.
Assembling for the Yule Log:
  1. Place the thin sheet of Choco Sponge.
  2. Spread the Truffle on top of Sponge as a layer on top.
  3. Spread the Milk Chocolate Crunchy on top of the Truffle layer.
  4. Now, start rolling it tightly in the shape of swiss roll.
  5. Refrigerate.

Tips

  1. Method for Garnishing: Decorate around the log using the original concept of wood. This can be done by chocolate shavings as shown or in your own style.
